You will submit a Research Project Paper this semester, worth 20% of your total grade in this course. To better assist you, this paper will be divided into three submissions. Part 1 (Topic) and Part 2 (Literature Review) will each be worth 5% of the course grade (one-fourth of your project grade each). The Final Completed Paper will be worth 10% of the course grade (one-half of your project grade).
Part 1 (Topic)
Part 1 (Topic) is due in Module 4 by February 23 at 11:59PM (CT). For this first part of the Research Project Paper, you will need choose your own topic. Each student paper should be in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic we are experiencing. This could be a topic ranging from the COVID-19 disease process to how it has impacted nurses etc., as long as it deals with COVID-19. However, it is important you choose a topic that will give you at least 10 scholarly references.
The first submission will include: the title page (which is why you need your title), an introduction, and a reference page all in APA. You should not cite all 10 articles in your introduction, but I would like to see your references in order to see what direction you are going in, that you are utilizing acceptable articles and, of course, that you are citing correctly.

Part 2 (Literature Review)
Part 2 (Literature Review) is due in Module 6 by March 7 at 11:59PM (CT). For the second part of the Research Project Paper, you will need to critique at least 8 of your 10 articles. This is the bulk of your paper. Aim for about a paragraph for each of your selected articles. As you can see from the rubric, you should state the variables, sample size, data collection/study procedures, and the strengths and weaknesses of articles.
The summarization of the knowledge gained from these articles should be discussed along with the implications for nursing practice. Add this part to your first submission’s text, however, your corrections for part 1 will not be reviewed until the finalized paper is turn in.

Final Paper
The Final Paper is due in Module 13 by April 25 at 11:59PM (CT). The minimum page requirement for the completed paper is 15 pages, which includes the abstract, title page, and references. The maximum number of pages is 20.

Grading
You have been provided with rubrics for each of these parts, as well as for the final Research Project Paper. You will receive feedback with each submission, however, only what is due for that submission will be given a grade. The expectation is that you are correcting your paper when feedback is given so that you can submit your best work at the end of this semester.
