Describe your reactions to their lived experiences. Explain what inspired, troubled, moved, surprised, confused, and (you fill in the blank) you when reading their life story. In addition, provide discussion as to why you think you reacted this way – what do their narratives teach you about life, suffering, resilience, and hope?

PART 2
You are a gender-based violence researcher, advocate, and grant-writer for Lifewire, a domestic violence organization serving King County. You have been given the task to write a proposal for a multi-million dollar grant, which if funded, would allow Lifewire to provide domestic violence services to populations that are often marginalized by mainstream domestic violence intervention and prevention models.

Choose a population discussed by Renzetti (LGBTQ), Whittaker (the elderly), and Puchala and colleagues (Aboriginal Peoples) and write a one-page grant proposal in which you explain:
The prevalence of violence among this population.
Your thoughts as to why this population has often been marginalized by mainstream domestic violence intervention and prevention models.
Your (creative!) ideas about domestic violence intervention and prevention models that would best serve this population.
