Write a 5-7 page paper describing your topic or person of interest. Your topic or person must be someone outside the traditional narrative that lived in the U.S. during the scope of this course (Barbara Johns walks out). You will need to make and support an argument about your topic and its impact on U.S. History.
You must use at least one primary source in your paper and two to three academic secondary sources. If you have trouble finding one, contact me. The quickest way is to google the name of your topic followed by “primary source”, this will usually provide a link.
You must cite your sources on your paper. If you don’t know how to do this, read the source and citation survival guide and then contact me.
Use 12 point font, 1-inch margins, double spaced. Be aware that the link will scan for originality. Make sure that you are using quotes and citations as appropriate.
Most importantly, we must know why your person or topic is significant to U.S. History.
