Papers should contain relevant material from the course textbook and lectures and clearly demonstrate the student’s personal comprehension of and interaction with this material. (Students should specifically refer to at least three sections of the text in some fashion in each paper and indicate the page number of these references/quotes in parenthesis following each referenced material/quote.) Example- Citations will look like this in your paper: “… is one of the reasons I have learned as to why I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God” (p. 27). (You just need to put the page number in parenthesis and bolded as shown in this example. We all know you are referencing the Erickson text in some way since this is the only source from which you are writing your reflection papers.) 2. Papers will be at least 2 full pages in length. (Normal margins, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font only.) 3. Papers will include a cover page with your name, the course name and number, the instructor’s name, and the title you are giving to your paper. 4. Each paper will count for 100 points. 5. There will be a 5-point deduction per calendar day for papers that are submitted late. 6. Special Instructions for Submitting Papers: All papers will be submitted electronically to the instructor via the designated folder in Blackboard. Grading Rubric for Reflection Papers: (100 total points per paper) Content-60 points- Paper covered the assigned topic and demonstrated critical thinking, reflection, and application. Textbook Material Interaction-20 points- Paper clearly demonstrates some degree of interaction with the textbook material on the assigned topic. (At least three references to the text are cited.) Style-20 points- Grammatical integrity, punctuation, spelling, proper length, etc. Computer difficulties is not an acceptable excuse for avoiding the late penalty. Computer difficulties are always possible with online courses, so do not wait until the last minute to submit your assignments. Plan early!
