Questions 1 & 2 should each be about 1.5 pages & question 3 should be about 2

minimum of 5 pages of text (and no more than 8). Remember to cite all references in the bibliography.

1. What are Theories of Victimization? How do these related theories contribute to/deepen our

understanding of crime causation, criminal offenders, and criminal events? Make sure to discuss

key aspects of the various theories and their unique take on the relationship between offenders

and their victims in crime-based events. Finally, what is the link between theory and the real

world: i.e. how can we use these theories to enhance crime prevention? Be specific!

2. Identify, describe, and explain the types of crime. Make sure

to include violent, property, and public order crimes in your essay. What can you tell me about

each?

3. This question is interested in the “big picture” of criminological theory. If you were to develop

a theory of crime, based on the “integration of various criminological theories” this semester,

what would it look like? Make sure to discuss the needed balance of biological, psychological,

sociological, development, and choice-based theories.
