Final Paper Outline

This week you will prepare a descriptive outline and annotated bibliography for your Final Paper. Review the complete instructions for the Final Paper in Week Five of the course or in the “Components of Course Evaluation.” Your outline should contain headings and subheadings for each section of your paper. Each of these must be followed by a two-to-three sentence description. Your descriptions should demonstrate that you have thought critically about the issues involved and should incorporate strategies you would implement for the scenarios you are creating. Indicate which sources will apply to each section. Include an annotated bibliography for your reference page that describes at least five recent scholarly sources that you will use in your Final Paper. The more depth and detail you provide with this assignment, the more input and feedback you will receive from your instructor regarding your progress toward the Final Paper.

Your outline and annotated bibliography must adhere to APA formatting as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Samples documents are located in the Ashford Writing Center, which can be accessed through the “Learning Resources” link in the left-hand navigation panel of your classroom.
Your assignment should be four to six pages as follows:

Review the Boomers: The Next 20 Years website. Select one of the Ten Boomer Action Types to focus on for your Final Paper, these include:

You will write an eight to ten page paper (excluding title and reference pages) that describes the complex outlook on the future for your selected Boomer Action Type, and thoroughly discuss how you envision them navigating the next couple of decades of their lives. As you consider each topic, support your rationale with at least six to eight recent, scholarly sources, in aIDition to the Boomers: The Next 20 Years website and resources. Your Final Paper must include the following:

I. Abstract: Provide an overview of your paper.

II. Introduction: Your specific objectives must be stated and a solid thesis statement must be present.

III. Predominant Outlook on Life: Provide a description of your Action Type.

a. What is the basic conflict?

b. What is the life-stage?

c. What are the primary expectations?

d. What challenges might this Action Type face as a result?

IV. Decision-making: Analyze the seven decision-making processes and the life events that have influenced your Action Type.

VI. Health and Wealth: Discuss the Action Type’s perspective on health and wealth issues.

c. How does this Action Type anticipate, plan for, and manage life changes in the future as it relates to these two areas?

VII. Global Outlook: Discuss how those in your Action Type views their relationships to others throughout the world, as it pertains to the aging process. How does their perspectives influence the choices they make with regard to their futures?

VIII. Challenges: Provide an overview of potential challenges for your Action Type and strategies to overcome them.

a. As a result of their perspective; what kinds of challenges might your Action Type face that could impede their ability to enjoy life and
aging to the fullest extent possible?

b. Develop and describe strategies this Action Type might incorporate to enable them to overcome these challenges to positive aging.
Include strategies for sustaining their values, health, managing their economic resources, and “future proofing”.

IX. Conclusion: Provide a summary of the main points and a restatement of the thesis.

X. References: At least six to eight recent scholarly sources must be used, in aIDition to the Boomers: The Next 20 Years website and resources. All sources must be cited according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. APA formatting must be used throughout the paper and for the reference page.

The Final Paper:

1. Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length, and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

2. Must include a title page with the following:

3. Must include an abstract.

4. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.

5. Must aIDress the topic of the paper with critical thought.

6. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.

7. Must use at least six to eight scholarly sources, in aIDition to the Boomers: The Next 20 Years website and resources.

8. Must document all sources in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

9. Must include a separate reference page, formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center
