Three Ways to Write a Thesis Listing Points

In literature writing a thesis statement is the main point that briefly interprets the ideas in the topic of discussion. In order to successfully write the thesis statement, certain procedures are supposed to be followed so as to ensure that the main ideas are stated along the key points that are to be addressed (Arlov, P. 2009). The procedure eases the work of a writer by providing the shortest way of listing of ideas hence addressing the crucial information.

The following steps should be followed to come up with a well written thesis statement;

1) Examine the topic: – A writer should first examine the topic that he intends to write about in order to gather relevant information that will assist him in getting more ideas (Arlov, P. 2009).. The examination of ideas also helps the writer to stick to the objective of the topic, plus he is able to know which type of thesis he will use in his writing in order to convince and persuade the readers.

2) Decide on your opinion: – After examining the ideas the writer should then come up with a clear stand regarding the direction his discussions on the topic will take. For instance if his choice of topic is debatable his opinions on the topic should be reflected in the statement thesis so as to engage the readers in a discussion (Arlov, P. 2009).

3) Decide on the main points to be addressed in the topic: – The writer should provide the reasons for his choice of topic by giving examples and facts that support his arguments (Arlov, P. 2009). The reasons and examples should be stated in the thesis to prove to the readers the credibility of the topic and persuade them to do something.
