All letters must be single spaced, Times New Roman, font size 12, error-free (SUPER IMPORTANT that they are error-free!), paragraphs should be 3-5 sentences each in length. VERY IMPORTANT … Professor does not edit your work – have friends, family members proof your work! Read it out loud to yourself and others.

Subject should be about a social issue related to students or to your reading audience. See ideas handout. You must find the physcial address to the local newspaper or organization you are writing to and it will be emailed directly to them.

Letters MUST be typed on a Word doc and emailed to me, as well as emailed to the newspaper, corporation, radio station, TV station, etc.

Topics could range from local campus issues such as high cost of textbooks, tuition and housing to national issues, such as COVID-19, racial inequality (George Floyd), Black Lives Matter, upcoming presidential elections. But be creative!
