·       Select one or more of the cultural competence assessment tools to assess the level of cultural competency of yourself and your teammates.  The Portland State University Research and Training Center on Family Support Web site at www.rtc.pdx.edu has a self-assessment which can be used for this assignment, but it is not a requirement to use this particular assessment.  (The assessment from www.rtc.pdx.edu is posted in the Course Materials Section for your reference.)  Have each team member complete the assessment on himself/herself and report results to the team.  Compile the results and come to a general conclusion about each team member’s cultural competency, and your team’s overall cultural competency.   Use work environment, family or membership to a group or club for a frame of reference as it pertains to assessing cultural competence.   

·       Prepare a minimum 3-page (or 1050 words)* paper on your Learning Team’s cultural competency.

·       Include recommendations regarding increasing or ensuring greater cultural competence for your team members. This is my portion of the assignment should be 320 words and have references

·       Briefly discuss and explain theassessment tool that your team used, and whether it was/was not an appropriate tool for the purpose of this assignment. Include the assessment as an Appendix in your paper. 

·       Format your paper according to APA standards and use 3rd person.
