Strength and Weaknesses of Springdale, Downtown and Wesmall Malls Selected for the Survey

Introduction

The major shopping areas in the community of Springdale include Springdale Mall, West Mall, and the downtown area on Main Street. A telephone survey has been conducted to identify strengths and weaknesses of these areas and to find out how they fit into the shopping activities of local residents. The 150 respondents were also asked to provide information about themselves and their shopping habits. The collected data was analysed as below that drove to make the resulting conclusions. These conclusions are supported by graph plots from the collected data.

The plot graph above generally portrays that there seem to be more spending of value below $15 in WestMall and Downtown malls compared to the Springdale mall; and at the same time there is more spending of value above $200 in Springdale mall compared to the other two malls.

The plot graph above shows that very many interviewed customers like Springdale very much compared to other malls, whereas WestMall is the mall that is disliked the most among the three selected malls.

From the observation above, Springdale appears to be the shopping mall with the best shopping hours compared to the other two malls, but slightly comes second to WestMall when it comes to the best bargaining mall amongst the three malls. One can easily conclude that Springdale is the preferred shopping mall between the three selected malls.

The following are graph plots of distribution of gender, number of years for education completed, and the marital status of each respective customer contacted by the telephone company.

From the observation of the plots below, the following conclusions can be made:

There are more female shoppers compared to the male counterparts.

Most shoppers are either no not married or other.

Most of the interviewed customer level of education is ranging from 12-16(exclusive) years.
