Task:
You have just been appointed the Communications Manager for Diabetes Australia, a not-for-profit organization supporting people with Diabetes.
The General Manager has asked you to do a review of the key stakeholders of Diabetes Australia and make recommendations about the best way to communicate with these key groups.
Prepare a brief report identifying each of the key stakeholder groups (at least 4) for Diabetes Australia, giving
a brief (one paragraph) overview of each stakeholder group,
Who are they,
What are some key characteristics of the group, and,
What is their stake in Diabetes Australia
and identify 2 key ways of how to best communicate and engage with each group.

Diabetes Australia
Diabetes Australia was established in 1984 as the national peak body for diabetes in Australia providing a single, powerful, collective voice for people living with diabetes, their families and carers.
A non-profit organisation, Diabetes Australia works in partnership with diabetes consumer organisations, health professionals, educators and researchers to minimise the impact of diabetes in the Australian community.
Diabetes Australia is committed to turning diabetes around through awareness, prevention, detection, management and the search for a cure.
Diabetes €“ the disease
At least 1.5 million Australians have diabetes.. 280 Australians develop diabetes every day
Approximately 100,000 Australians have developed diabetes in the past year.
Diabetes is the fastest growing chronic disease in Australia and all types of diabetes are increasing in prevalence;
For every person diagnosed with diabetes there is usually a family member or carer who also lives with diabetes every day in a support role.

Mostly related to NDSS scheme
Diabetes Australia works in partnership with diabetes health professionals and educators, researchers and healthcare providers to minimise the impact of diabetes on the Australian community.
In collaboration with state and territory diabetes organisations and through the administration of the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), Diabetes Australia provides practical assistance, information and subsidised products to almost 1.1 million Australians diagnosed with diabetes.
