Staff wages per week
There are two lead
teachers on duty daily (TP): they work 10 hrs and 8 hrs respectively. Thus
their pay will be given by: $ 15*18 hours*5days=$
1350 per week on lead teachers
There are also two Assistant
teachers (A) on duty daily at the center: they work in shifts of 10 hours each.
Their pay is thus given by: $
8*20hours*5days= $ 800 per week on Assistant teachers.
Total weekly expenditure

Staffing
patterns are schedules created by management to ensure that their organizations
are sufficiently staffed at various times. Such schedules are critical for the
efficient operations of institutions schools and child care centers. In a child care set up, the ratio between the
staff and student is very important. The staff in a childcare center possesses
a variety of qualifications. Some are trained to handle infants while others
are trained to handle toddlers and pre-school kids. The center is fully staffed to ensure that
the needs of the students are all met within the institution.
The
lead teachers are allowed a two hour block for their preparation. The shifts
are arranged in such a way that there is always a lead teacher at the
institution. The assistant teachers are important during naptimes as they help
supervise the different classrooms that are operating at full capacity. The
Center Director spends 3 hours each week (in both schedules). At such times,
She may attend to the concerns raised by the parents and staff or may simply
just spend the time with the children.
The staffing patterns are arranged in such a way as to ensure that there
is a lead teacher on duty to open and close the center. The pattern also
ensures that the staff: student ratios as prescribed by NH and NAEYC authorities
are observed at all times.
From
the discourse above, it is candid that a staffing pattern is of paramount
significance in the child care center. As stated afore hand, these schedules
ensure that the center is sufficiently staffed to handle the demand at
different times. The number of staff deployed varies proportionately with the
number of students present at the center at different hours. The schedule is
thus important in ensuring that at no time is the center understaffed or
overstaffed. The staffing pattern is important to the staff as it serves as a
reminder to them as to when they are supposed to be on duty. The schedule also
allows them time to plan their work and also ensures that they are not fatigued
and burdened with long shifts.
The
staffing pattern is also important to the parents and the children. The
schedule allows the parents to know the times they can pick and drop their
children. The schedule is programmed in a way that will allow wholesome
development for the child. The time spent at the center is budgeted for; the
students are allowed time to play, take a nap, engage in creative activities
etc. Creating staffing pattern would be
more fun if the number of children would be less. This would go a long way in
affording flexibility to the planner.
