Option 1: A research paper on ‘What has become of the news?’ Consider some earlier versions of what was seen as news compared to the dominant or defining versions today. Include thoughts on why these changes have come about and whether these are positive or negative developments- or some of both. You may also include speculations on what news will mean in the future.

Option 2:  A research paper on ‘Facebook: from Superhero to Arch villain.’ Consider the transformations of Facebook in reality, and in its image, from its beginnings till the current moment. You may use it as your sole focus, or as representative of other major social media giants. You may include your own evaluation of Big Tech companies like Facebook, and thoughts about what might or should be done about them in the future.

***You only get to submit once, so be sure that you submitting the correct document*** Maximum 2000 words, or 7-8 pages in length.  Include your name, date of submission, student number and word count at the top of the document. Double space and use a 12 point serif font.  

Use APA citation style. This should look like (Lastname, year) or for direct quotes (Lastname, year, p. #). These should come at the end of the sentence, before the period. For example: The opening line of Dickens classic novel is “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” (Dickens, 1859, p.1).
