I have aursing, which I strongly believe I will achieve soon. Being in the field of nursing has motivated me to ensure that the highest quality of health care is provided to the society worldwide. I have had an urge to coordinate the have been occurring in the healthcare field. In order to achieve my dreams, I find the necessity to have a Doctorate in Nursing since it will supplement my knowledge in nursing. I have been a leader in many students’ associations throughoutmy undergraduate studies to the present, and my efforts cannot be underestimated.

I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and I will be graduating by August 2015. Soon after the Bachelor’s, I have plans to commence with masters in September the same year. I plan to work smart in my master’s class and manage to graduate after one and a half years. In order to graduate in time, I will have to dedicate much of my time to studies and work closely with my peers and work closely with my mentors. I believe that teamwork with my peers will assist me grasp the subjects that might be difficult to me, and improve my overall understanding and performance. My mentors will keep me on track because once I see their success; my motivation will always be activated.

Masters requires one to produce an accurate and professional thesis, so I will need to plan well for it and seek a lot of advice from those who have been ahead of me. I will set more time for research and work closely with my supervisor, who will be a great source of support to me.I need to be self-driven and work under minimum supervision in order to make my supervisor see the yearning I have for knowledge. He will in turn be motivated to assist me in the best way possible. I plan to complete my master’s degree and start pursuing my doctorate a short while after graduating, to pursue my dream while still young and fresh from masters studies.

My goal is to hold a leadership role within the nursing profession and see the entire field transformed to offering higher quality health care, contrary to the belief held by many members of society. In the clinical setting where I plan to work in the next five years degree after attaining the doctorate, I will have a great impact in the field. I have a vision of being an advocate for the nursing profession, a problem solver who will be handling all the challenges associated with the nursing profession, and a role model to other professionals in the same field.

Advocacy will require me support proposals that will be favorable to both the staff and the patients. I will have to be insightful and see the gaps that need to be aIDressed. Since a Doctorate holder is fully equipped for the task, I believe it will be a wonderful task to me. One of the ways through which I will successfully play the role of an advocate will be through preparation of special interest groups whose goals in the profession converge. The interest groups will work towards influencing public policy to change towards the improvement of health care and the welfare of both the staff and the patients. As a problem solver, I will also require my input and that of professional colleagues in the same field. I believe motivation of the staff will instill in them the same vision that I have, and working towards the improvement of health care will be a combined effort.

The goal of having a Doctorate in Nursing will open a door for me to Advanced Nursing Practice after a few, where I will be able to attain advanced clinical skills. The advanced clinical skills will give me an opportunity to assess illnesses in a systematic way. I will also be able to strategize and devise interventions that will be based on nursing science.

In conclusion, my goal to attain a Doctorate in Nursing is measurable and attainable given the time frame within which my goal is to be realized. I will have masters degree one and a half years after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in August 2015, and a Doctorate in Nursing within one to two years after the masters. After that, I will be able to practice my career with contentment. The path to attaining my goals will instill some essential values in me, such as working under minimum supervision, which is possible when one is self-driven. The Doctorate will enable me to have leadership and administrative responsibilities.
