This task is designed for you to demonstrate your ability to find accurate information on a topic and use the information you find to evaluate the topic. This is a critical skill in Science and
other subjects and to assist a formal layout for your answer has been provided.
Choose ONE of the four following topics (DIFFERENT TO PART A) and write a response, including diagrams and references. As a guide, limit your response to 2-3 pages.
1) Global Warming
Evaluate the statement ‘Global warming has and will continue to impact human society’.
2) Genetic engineering
Evaluate the statement ‘Genetic engineering has and will continue to impact human society’.
3) Nuclear Energy
Evaluate the statement ‘Nuclear energy has and will continue to impact human society’.
4) Stem Cell Research
Evaluate the statement ‘Stem cell research has and will continue to impact human society’.
The following is a style guide for you to follow when setting out your response.
Introduction Define your topic (approximately two lines). This may restate the question you are answering.
Body This is where you present the evidence/data/facts and you must include either a data table or graph. Discuss (considering both perspectives) your topic using subheadings where relevant.
Explanatory diagrams should also be included here. Ensure you use correct scientific terminology when explaining your topic.
Evaluation This is where you will make an evaluation. Here you point out that when you apply your supporting evidence, data and graphs it validates your work/ opinion.
