The article described at length the events leading up to the Massachusetts charter as well as its impact on the American people. The charter was invoked by the colonial government so as to control mobilization during the French-Indian war. Those affiliated to the colonists revered the charter as it ensured proper governance and fostered their rights and interests. The charter was seen as a constitution for the province of Massachusetts Bay. However, the natives frowned upon the charter and this led to boycotts against the British government which further fueled the French-Indian war. The article pertains to the topic of interests as it also discusses issues concerning the French-Indian war and how it was impacted upon by the charter.
