Course DescriptionIntroduction to Mass Communication is a course that deals with the history and development of print and electronic media, including magazines, newspapers, television, movies, radio, and the Internet. Special attention will be paid to current concerns about the effects of media content on individuals and society.Course Objectives1. Students will be able to critically discuss issues related to media and mass communication.2. Students will be able to discuss the effects of mass communication upon society.3. To increase the understanding of ethical standards within mass media fields.4. To improve the student’s media literacy.5. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of various career opportunities in mass media and well as the norms and practices within those fields.6.
