- Read the following scenario
Scenario:
Employee Engagement and Social Validity
Global Ed, the school from your Unit 6 Discussion, has informed your Acme, Inc., supervisor that they love the staff-training model you designed for them. Many staff members have completed the staff training, but there are many others who do not understand why they have to go through such training and why they are receiving so much feedback. It was also indicated that, overall, staff are still engaging in minimal effort and show little enthusiasm throughout the workday.
Your supervisor has asked you to meet with the director of the school and discuss ways to increase employee engagement and buy-in related to interventions implemented at Global Ed. long term.
For this discussion, explain each of the following as it specifically relates to Global Ed:
- In your own words, explain what employee engagement is to the director of Global Ed. Discuss the important factors that the director should evaluate that impact employee engagement and discretionary effort.
- Provide two specific suggestions that can be implemented at Global Ed to increase employee engagement.
- Define “social validity†in your own words.
- Discuss the role that social validity could play with regard to staff support of the staff training intervention and future interventions at Global Ed.
Peer Responses:
Review two of your classmates’ posts to assess the following:
- Critique your peers’ suggestions to improve employee engagement. Are your peers’ suggestions appropriate? Why or why not?
- Discuss your thoughts on the role of social validity and the success of intervention over the long term. Do you agree or disagree with your peer’s description of this topic?
