Persuasive Personal Statement

Sometimes we do not get what we deserve and other times we get the negative fruits of our bad actions. In my case it is the choices I have made that have made me who I am today and I have to agree that most of my past choices have been negative. Life pushed me to the corner most of the times and due to immaturity, I just gave into whatever it asked me to do. It was a difficult situation and when I look back, I get the courage and determination to talk to my inner self that such will never happen again. My goal is to go to college and study for nursing which I have always wanted. Therefore, I am hoping that the issues that I have will not hold me back and they will in fact help me push forward in my career and in search of a better life as I would not like to go back to my past and live that kind of life. Despite my crooked past I believe Valencia college will accept me for their nursing program.

The reason for this is that even though the past might be ugly the future I hope for is bright. However, it is very difficult to convince anyone of anything especially when I have been involved in activities which were not pleasant throughout my history and in a repetitive manner. There is no better way to say this but having matured and now being a grown person, I feel the responsibility of a grown up. That means I understand the consequences that will follow me in case I get involved into such things like aggravated assault. For instance, I know I can go to jail for around 10 years and there isn’t mercy in jail especially when am an adult. This means that my mind is open and I can see the world in a better manner as the treatment of a child is over and I have to face the world. Therefore, this is one of the reasons that will prevent me from getting into violence and my failure to get into violence will be my immunity towards jail and other unwanted results of doing what is against the law. By abiding to the law and becoming more reasonable I would gain a chance in Valencia college as I would portray to the school my maturity and my will to become a better person.

Another reason Valencia college would accept me is that would put all my energy towards studying and becoming better. With my grades I would seek scholarship and make sure I am ready to do whatever it takes for me to pass not only for my sake but also for the sake of my school, my sponsors and generally every other person who needs an encouragement that they can stop doing what is wrong and turn new leaves and become better people. By becoming mature, reasonable and hardworking I would fit perfectly into Valencia college and continue to grow towards becoming a better person each and every day.
