Dear participants,

You are required to read the Palestinian National Health Strategy 2011-2013,, and structure your review along the following themes: (1) Appraise the quality and appropriateness of the Strategy’s Mission, Vision and Values statements [6 marks]; (2) Discuss the scope, relevance and potential effectiveness of each of the three phases of the “Road Map” to the formulation of the 2011-2013 Palestinian health strategy [9 marks]; (3) over a third of all health expenditure in Palestine is derived from foreign aid. Review efforts by the Palestinian National Authority Ministry of Health to enhance effectiveness of foreign aid in order to improve maternal and child health. Support your response with at least two pertinent citations [10 marks]; (4) Discuss the scope and justify the appropriateness {or inappropriateness} of the eight strategic objectives and expected outcomes of the 2011-2013 health strategy document [8 marks]; (5) Using referenced sources to support your perspective, assess the progress made by the implementers of the strategy to optimize “Access to quality health services”. Highlight current health management gaps in enhancing health equity in the Palestinian territories and provide approaches for aIDressing such gaps [7 marks].
