In this discussion, reflect on the history and development of the doctorate of nursing practice (DNP). Also, refer to the Doctor of Nursing Practicetext reading and the AACN’s “The Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice” to address the following:

Compare and contrast the inquiry processes of the DNP and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing.
As you develop your post, consider these questions based on your readings this week:

What do you see as the major impetus for the DNP degree?
How does this degree differ from the PhD?
How will you apply the DNP degree in practice?
Who are the key stakeholders and how did they add credence and credibility to the DNP?

For this discussion, write a brief evaluation of what you have learned in this course and how you will apply your new knowledge and skills to your professional career and your development as a doctorally prepared nurse professional. Your discussion post should include the following:

Discuss the leadership capacity you currently have and how you see this evolving as a DNP leader interacting with health care teams with diverse backgrounds.
Identify at least two areas of new knowledge that you have acquired.
Discuss how and where you might apply the new knowledge to your current (or future) nursing practice.
As a result of this course, what have you learned about your own strengths and weaknesses in developing a clinical question?
What knowledge gaps still exist related to the content in this course? How will you fill those gaps?
Your initial post should be succinct but at least 150 words, and should demonstrate clarity of thought and precision in writing. Use examples to support your reflection. Evidence-based references are not required for this discussion.
