Arrive at a consensus and produce a list that identifies 5 to 10 elements (such as a budget) that are essential to an effective program plan. Essential in this case means that a program cannot effectively operate without these elements.

Weekly Overview

This week’s readings provide real-world applications for program plans, including model program plans and practical considerations students might face when creating program plans. Students work in clusters to discuss the elements of an effective program plan. They also make revisions to their Scenario Evaluation Plan from Week Five.

Collaborative Work Instructions

The class will be divided into three discussion clusters using the following roster. I will post the roster the evening of Day 1 of this week. On that day, I will also post three discussion threads in which students may begin discussion. You are encouraged to discuss your differing opinions about the essential elements of an effective program plan.

Discussion Question 2 – Due Thursday, July 19

Review the important elements identified by your cluster and the other clusters. Refine your list to include what you feel are the five most essential elements of an effective program. Choose one of the three model programs from Ch. 7 in your text. Does the model program address all of the elements you identified as essential to a program plan? Explain how it does or does not meet these expectations.
