4. China

According to statistics provided by the US Department of Commerce, China is project to send 3.1 million visitors to the US in 2019 (a 172% growth in a 5 year period). This will make China the 3rd largest tourist source market to the US behind Canada and Mexico.

Please choose a city or region that you believe could effectively attract Chinese tourists, within that city or region choose one service provider that you believe could successfully serve this market. (I will chose Las Vegas)

1. Based on your research, how should local tourism promotion agencies market the location in China (marketing channels, what should be emphasized in the message, times of year the Chinese are most likely to travel, etc)? What does research show that Chinese tourists like to do when traveling?

2. Based on your discussion in 1, identify one specific service provider (such as a specific hotel) and what it should do in order to attract and serve Chinese tourists during their stay.
