Multi-genre Writing
Not all writing or written communication is standard reader-text. This next major essay will move you out of your comfort zone, hopefully with good results, by allowing you to “see” things from a different perspective than regular rhetoric.
For essay #2, you will chose other genres with which to communicate your idea—as we discussed in class. Multi-genre writing allows you to add your own creative flair into your message.
Here are the instructions for your multi-genre paper.
Your goal here is to find a topic relating to Tiptree’s The Girl Who Was Plugged In; Wilhelm’s “Baby, You Were Great!”; Dorman’s “When I Was Miss Dow”; or the except from Shelley’s Frankenstein. You may chose to write about one single story, compare a common theme in two of them, or all of them, depending on the topic you want to explore and illustrate. It’s up to you. Try to think of it as an ordinary literary essay, only you are choosing a different means of expression than traditional prose.
