•Individual attributes low self- esteem, physical illness
•Social and economic circumstances – loneliness, bereavement & low income, poverty
•Environmental factors – Injustice and discrimination.

Protective factors (definition from text book to be included)
“Factors that decrease the likelihood that an individual or group of people will develop a condition or illness’ they are measured in terms of consequence and likelihood” (Hungerford 2015).
