Guidelines (they must be followed).
1. Write a brief introduction, providing information about the context upon what this report is based, its main objectives and main concepts of operations management that will be used in the report.
2. Use the transformation process model to explain the main elements of the operation.
3. Discuss internal and external influences for this operation.
4. Set out 2 or 3 performance objectives for the operation, justifying clearly the selection of those objectives.
5. Define clearly responsibilities for the operations function, and discuss issues related to planning, control and decision making, and the people involved in those tasks.
6. Draw a map of one of the key processes in the operation, using a process map. Use the map to show how the process can be improved in some/all of its elements.
7. Discuss how productivity can be improved, outlining clear examples with calculations.
8. Discuss issues of capacity planning in the operation and evaluate ways to improve capacity in the operation.
9. Evaluate the importance of effective and efficient inventory management in this operation, citing examples.
