• For this assignment, please identify a social problem of interest. The social problem you identify for this assignment will be used for the

remainder of your assignments. In thinking about the problem, think about a social condition that is currently being addressed or a social condition

that has not received much attention or a social condition that has a gap in service provision. Using current events as an example, school shootings

is a social problem. Another example, food insecurity.

For this assignment, you are to search the literature to better understand your identified social problem and present your findings in an annotated

bibliography. Your annotated bibliography will have three areas: social problem definitions, human service program performance/measurement,

assumptions about the causes of the problems. You can find more information about these areas in your MK text on pages 28-37. For this assignment,

you will read theoretical articles and empirical articles (i.e., those that are testing and reporting the results of an intervention). For each

section, you are to read and write up a summary of 3 articles. Please note, you may only use peer reviewed journal articles (no websites, government

reports, organizational reports, etc.) You will later use your annotated bibliography, along with other resources, to write the literature review

section of your final report. For this assignment, you will need a total of 9 articles. Please be sure to read the example of an annotated

bibliography–you will have to write concisely!
