Assignment Introduction  In this assignment, we will explore the development norms of your sample population within the family that you presented in the Topic Selection and Rationale assignment. Development norms are important because they help providers understand distinctions between normative behaviors and nonnormative behaviors, each of which can cause stress in the family system. For example, the stress of a maturing adolescent is normative behavior that can be a stress within the family system, while an adolescent with a substance-use disorder is not normative behavior but will also cause stress within a family system.  Note: Remember to review the requirements for your final project before you begin each assignment. Using at least five peer-reviewed research articles for support, describe normative behavior for your selected population by age, gender, and cultural group. Also, describe nonnormative behavior or development conflicts for your selected sample population. Apply at least two family theories that align with or work well for your selected population group.
