I need help on the following: first the memo, second the essay.

I provided the samples for both memo and essay. Also, I provided the article, as well.

Memo:

Before you write your essay, you will submit a memo online to Turnitin. The memo should include the following information:

• The issue you chose and your initial opinion
• a brief summary of the arguments in favor and against the proposition
• a time-line for getting the assignment done
• a tentative plan for how you will organize your essay

The purpose of the memo is for me to make sure that you understand the proposition and the requirements of the assignment.

“Parts of a Memo” describes general elements needed in a memo and I will also provide a sample memo you can use as a model. The memo is worth 5 points.

SYNTHESIS

For the synthesis paper, you will write a synthesis essay about a controversial issue in the United States.

Format:

• double-spaced, Times or Times New Roman,12 point font, 1-inch margins
• MLA / APA style (Works Cited/References page & in-text references)
• The paper should be 2-3 pages long.

You will read the articles related to your chosen issue and give a responsible account of the arguments on each side, using quoting, summarizing, and paraphrasing from the articles. Each body paragraph should focus on a subtopic related to the main topic and discuss what the two points of view say in regard to this topic and how they connect (agree/disagree). In the conclusion, you should indicate the ways your ideas about the topic relate to the assigned texts. In other words, after explaining both sides in the body paragraphs, explain your position in relation to the ideas in the readings.

Possible Organization:
