Final Debate – Drugs are a Public Health Issue not a Criminal Justice Issue

Affirmative:
Illegal drug use, is a topic of interest as a public health issue and not a criminal justice issue. With the powerful cartels in Mexico and discussions of legalizing marijuana in California, drugs are often on the minds of average citizens and politicians. Non-violent drug abusers should be treated the same as diseased people are treated. They should be sent to rehab, not jail. The definition of an addiction is an involuntary disease, meaning that after the first dose, drug abusers are not in control of their actions, therefore putting them in prison is an injustice.
Please write a well developed 1 page paragraph that sates that drugs are a Criminal Justice Issue. A good introduction that attracts the audience’s attention and interest in the topic clearly state the negative’s position on the topic. Clearly state the Negative’s Observation support with reason and evidence attack and question the Affirmative’s contention/evidence.
