For a new health procedure to be successful it should be suitable and in conformity nursing knowledge and skills as well as in line with the governing rules guiding nurses and physicians work, hospitals and their patients

In my investigation for the procedure, first I will break it to its components in order to have an understanding of it and its implications to the nurses, patients, nursing and physicians’ profession and the institution as a whole, highlighting the benefits versus the perils it may pose.

In the next step, I will analyze of the scope of practice nursing and that of the physicians. This will include duties, the required knowledge as well the guiding rules on the procedure as per the nursing council and the physician’savailable materials from these organizations.

I will then relate between what the procedure’s scope to that of the two practices. If the procedure fits in the scope of nursing, then I will recommend the adoption, and i

In implementing it, I will follow interrelated steps each guiding the other. I will involve the key stakeholders who are the nurses and the physicians into a discussion about its role, requirements and importance to the organization.

Once everybody is aware of it, I will carry out a feasibility study to determine its possibility of success as well as its requirements followed by knowledge gap identification to identify any needs for training the nurses and the physicians on the procedure.

The procedure will then be implemented through a well coordinated team work; continued monitoring and evaluation as well facilitative supervision to make it a success.
