This is definitely a huge part of health communication–assessing the ways media messages affect how see view the world. You will first watch Jean Kilgore’s talk about the influence of media messages and advertisements on violence against women. You will also watch Jason Katz’s “Tough Guise” documentary introduction.
Based on these videos, what are some of the influences of media representations on the safety of men and women? What are some of the consequences? What can be done to mitigate these unintended outcomes?
