2.Final Essay Topic:
In a well focused, well organized and well supported 8-10 page essay double spaced and stapled, choose an aspect of the image of the physician and/or the patient physician relationship that has emerged from our readings. Use 5 outside sources to give context to your claims or interpretations. The more material from the course that you use, the richer, stronger your essay will be.
Look at the general criteria for essay grades at the beginning of your syllabus. For those more cofortable with a numerical division the numbers are distribute as follows:
55% for content including strength of ain idea/thesis statement
20% for quality of outside sources used and their effective integration within your essay.
15% for quality of writing including sentence structure and and grammar
!0% for overall cohesiveness
1.As I said in class your final essay should focus on the image of the physician that emerges from the material we have covered that you have not already written about, unless you received a poor grade on one of those essays and would like to include a revised discussion in your final essay. So, no need to write about ‘”Wit” or ‘The Knife.”
2. You can use outside sources to add another dimension to this image or to deepen the analysis you already are developing.
3. Look at the syllabus for writing guidelines and the previous blackboard for a more precise breakdown of the grade.
4. Since almost all of you have taken 101, 102 and 103 of the FWP, I assume you are clear about the basics of effecive analytical writing
