Global Aptitude of Identical Twins in Affluent and Non-Affluent Families You may begin discussions in your Learning Team forum when ready. Your approved study is described below. You will be testing the global aptitude level of identical twins separated in infancy where one twin was nurtured in an affluent family and the other twin was nurtured in a non-affluent family. You will be drawing two independent samples: one sample from the population of twins who were raised in an affluent environment where resources readily available to nurture the child throughout childhood and adolescence; and one sample from the population of twins who were raised in a non-affluent environment where resources readily available to nurture the child throughout childhood and adolescence. Affluence is defined by income. Those families whose annual income is equal to or greater than 100k per year are considered affluent. Those families whose annual income is equal to or less than 35k per year are considered non-affluent. Your team may adjust the annual income numbers if you choose as long as you identify your criteria in your paper. You will evaluate the global aptitude of each twin in each sample via an independent samples ”t” test and compare the mean of each sample for significance: two samples; two means – one for each sample.Note: Use the ”Fulbright Global Aptitude Battery for Identical Twins” to rate each twins global aptitude. Fulbright is a fictitious Battery used solely for academic purposes and writing your paper. That means Fulbright is not a real Aptitude Battery; therefore, it does not exist. Its sole purpose is to give your paper the allusion of being a legitimate study.Pay particular attention to the information on the ”t” test for independent means in Chapter 9 of your text – it relates directly to your hypothesis test. Attached, you will find the data set that accompanies your hypothesis. The numbers in the column labeled ”Non-Affluent” are the global aptitude scores for twins raised by Non-Affluent families. The numbers in the column labeled ”Affluent” are the global aptitude scores for twins raised by Affluent families. Higher numbers indicate broader global aptitude. Max score is 20. You will be using a two-tailed test at the .05 level of significance to test the data. Your job will be to apply the formula(s) in Chapter 9 of your text to the data, interpret your results, and write your paper. Your hypothesis is stated below. This statement should appear as the last sentence of the opening section of your paper just before the Method section. See the Graphical Model posted in the ”Instructor Announcements” on the Home tab for an illustration of how your paper should look when finished. See the Sample Paper for guidance on what information to include in each section. Your hypothesis is stated below: Use this hypothesis statement in your paper.Global aptitude for one identical twin raised in an affluent family will differ from the global aptitude of the other identical twin raised in a non-affluent family.
