Research Paper: Each student is REQUIRED to submit a research paper in ECO2032. The research paper will explore business and economic opportunity (ies) by investigating, analyzing and interpreting current and forecasted (if available) local economic indicators data (such as economic growth, average income, unemployment, CPI, Consumer Confidence, etc. as well as Population and other characteristics) for a selected area. The selected area is Collier County
Your paper must contain the following structure:
1. Introduction- Research question/hypothesis
Example: Ho (Null Hypothesis): There are significant evidence based on current economic data to conclude that areas of business/economic opportunities have been growing. Additionally, in this section, you should answer the following questions: Why is this study important To whom is it important? What benefit(s)/contributions will occur conducting this research?

2. Business and Economic Background of the Area It is a kind of general review on the selected area from business and economic perspective. (Skill Component Assessed: Determine the nature and extent of the information needed and Access Information) **Go back to 10 years. Compare data to state and nationally

3. Current Trends in Macroeconomic Perspective – How is the economy overall? What is the impact of major macroeconomic indicators on local economy? (Skill Component Assessed: Determine the nature and extent of the information needed and Access Information)

4. Data and Methodology What kind of data? How do you retrieve data? What are the main resources of your data? What kind of methodology do you follow up to gather data? (Skill Component Assessed: Access Information)

5. Analysis/Results/Evidence Investigation and analysis on economic and business indicators; visual presentation by tables and charts to provide evidence. (Skill Component Assessed: Analyze information and its sources critically) *Graphs /Tables/ Charts CANNOT be in color (only black & white) and add source information below graphs/tables or charts

6. Conclusion- This is all about communicating, organizing and synthesizing information from sources to fully achieve a specific purpose, with clarity and depth; drawing sound conclusions from research gathered to meet with the research objectives.

7. Recommendation This section presents recommendations based on findings.
