              Write a four to five (4-5) page paper on the period from the Progressive era through the Great Depression.

Pick one of the following questions:

 

1. Explain the main themes of the Progressive Movement. What were the key reforms that the movement endorsed?

2. Explain the role that the Spanish American War played in America’s development of an Empire. Do you think the Spanish American War was as example of imperialism – why or why not?

3. Explain President Woodrow Wilson’s decision to allow the US to be neutral during the beginning of WWI? What was the impact of his decision?

4. Why are the 1920’s categorized as the “Roaring Twenties” in American History? Provide three reasons.

2. What role did women play in helping the US win WWII?

3. What were three civil rights breakthroughs after WWII that moved the cause of African Americans Forward?

4. What were three ways the Vietnam War brought political awareness to a new generation of young Americans?

What I am looking for in your papers:

·       Clear and concise thesis statement – this should be in the introduction of your paper, it tells me what you will be arguing and talking about.

·       Clear reasons (usually three) of how you will defend your thesis

·       In the body of your paper, you need to focus on organization and making sure you have good transition sentences.

·       You need to include an introduction that sets up the paper and in your conclusion you need to restate your introduction, thesis, and your arguments.

·       All paragraphs must be at least five sentences long. The paper needs to be three complete pages or four pages.

·       The paper needs to be in formal language and do not use the first or second person point of view.

·       Please proof read your paper to look for common misspellings and grammar errors.

·       You must have a cover sheet that meets the requirements of APA style, this does not count as a page of the paper.

 

·       Times New Roman 12 point font, double spaced, one-inch margins.
