The second prompt is:

I have stated that an alternate title for this course could be: America Since Television. Write a well-organized essay describing the impact of television on U.S. history since its popularization in the late Forties. Be sure to include both fiction and non-fiction offerings.

This also needs a thesis statement that needs to be bolded in the intro paragraph

I heard someone in my class say this is a good thesis statement this is not mine but it is something that the essay should be based off of. The thesis statement that I found that needs to be changed in different words is:

They often reinforce the status quo in television moved essential in exposing the injustices in American society and bringing attention to social justice

Make sure to rewrite this thesis statement in your own words and convey how TV showed a false sense of what was really happening on in America during the 1940’s-1960’s and how poor families mainly African Americans were suffering and there was no social justice.

Also fiction and non fiction offerings refer to cartoons and family home tv shows

For both of these prompts there is a book that should be used for citations. The book is called:

The Unfinished Journey by Chafe

Make sure to use evidence from this book in each body paragraph for the two prompts. And after quoting the book it should be cited as (Chafe, p#)

Also my professor allowed for citing her own notes from class. We are allowed to cite her notes as evidence in each body paragraph and cited as (Corey, Lecture) and there is no specific lecture so when citing my notes just use (Corey, Lecture).

It is very important to only use quotes from the lecture notes and the book The Unfinished Journey. Because of this there is no need for a bibliography.

If you can’t find the book online let me know I have a hard copy and what I can do is send pictures of entire chapters it may be annoying but that’s the only way I can think of. If that doesn’t work either it is not recommended but outside sources may be used but they must be reputable and factual and if using outside sources there is gonna be a need for a bibliography.
