Assignment 1: Elements of Art Description The purpose of this assignment is to practice using the Elements of Art and to consider medium when describing artworks. As discussed in Week 1, the Elements of Art are writing terms used to describe the visual appearance of art. Media are the materials utilized by the artist to create the artwork. Elements of Art and medium are discussed in this weeks lectures. By Wednesday, October 15, 2014, please write about one of the artworks listed near the bottom of the page. Also consider how the artists choice of media affects the use of art elements.
