Global Discourse through Interaction

Read the essay and respond to the writer
(adapted from Greene & Lidinsky):

What is the writer’s thesis?
How does the writer establish the conversation–identify a gap in people’s knowledge, attempt to modify an existing argument, or try to correct some misunderstanding?
How effectively does the writer distinguish between his or her ideas and the ideas he or she summarizes, paraphrases, or quotes?
To what extent are you persuaded by the writer’s argument? Why?
To what extent does the writer anticipate possible counterarguments?
Can you follow the essay’s organization easily? If so, point to transitions/transitional phrases that help? If not, suggest them.
What do you think is working best? Explain by pointing to specific passages in the writer’s draft.
What do you recommend the writer work further on, and why?
Globalization could be emphasized towards as an intergrading process for the many complexities of conforming in the development of any country. Although Foer’s and Appaiah’s arguments justified their views of globalization on a particular topic, globalization is and will always be shaped by nature, consisting of interacting socially, culturally, and as a societies since if identity through life lived activities. As a social progress, globalization is embedded through individual’s interactions with purpose, and the stimulation of cultural values, with or without constraints globally.  In this essay the reader should be able to identify with a particular country along with a particular event that coincides with globalization having the impact it has on national pride, history, culture, and identity in social interactions. In this case the country is China and the event is the 2008 Olympics taking place in Beijing.  In this essay a discussion will take place on Foer’s aspects of soccer as a sport in relation to globalization, along with Appiah’s concepts of globalization through social differences of moral disagreements.  This paper also utilizes theories of social development out of traditions in critical disclosure of China’s national identity through representation.
Nonetheless globalization is shaped by nature and an individual’s set of life long activities.  It appears that resolving the different globalization issues seem to remain a collective task and challenge for all countries all over the world.  Globalization is a powerful influence on culture, social interaction, and societies since of identity.  For over developed and under developed countries globalization creates opportunities with all sorts of people within a society to reach common grounds.  At this point in the world, lack of technology may cripple those people of under privileged geographical locations. In regards to the Olympic Games held in Beijing, Juan Li emphasizes on the intertwining relationship between China’s trend towards globalization and their cultural identities. ( Li 138)  With the country’s transitional appeals, the Beijing Olympics ceremony shows a relation in context of globalization through geographical localities and its social intentions.
Through and through, China’s national identity is defined through its interaction between traditions and trends, which contributes to globalization widely. Believe it or not, China products play a major role in American homes, let alone all the nifty nick knacks most Americans fancy.  From the offset, globalization embodies the process of social relations and transactions within and across nations.  This suggest that globalization moves more in a scattered formation, rather than in a uniformed direction.  Here the vision of globalization is encompassed by two basic assumptions of knowledge flowing in and out of a nation in contextualizing a specific system for globalizing interconnectedness.  Juan Li proclaims that there is a competition, a push and a pull type situation, between global and local issues in cultural exchange and formation. (Li 139)
