In the book, Friday Night Lights, Buzz Bissinger describes the importance of football at Permian High School and to the community of Odessa, Texas.

In the first part of the paper, please answer the following questions in the paper according to the book (not the movie):
How does football affect the school and the community? What social values are transmitted to students based on the treatment of the football program in the community and school? Be sure to include race and gender issues created by the importance of football and the quality of the education at PHS.
