I have attached information in regards to the essay. Any of the topics can be chosen for the final (only one must be chosen)

Your essay needs to include the following elements:

* an introduction with a clear and specific thesis statement

* literary analysis and references to literary terms

* body paragraphs with strong topic sentences (please refrain from using quotes as your topic sentences)

* evidence and examples from your primary source (Edwidge Danticat’s The Dew Breaker)

* evidence, examples, and/or references from two secondary sources such as articles from WLAC’s library research databases

* a conclusion

* an original title and a list of works cited (your works cited page should not count as part of the 4-5 page paper requirement)

Your paper needs to be submitted in Microsoft Word (doc, docx) and formatted in MLA style (typed, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, 12-point font, Times New Roman).

* Before you begin writing, reread the section “Writing a Literary Research Paper” from The Bedford Reader. This will give you an overview of the basic steps for completing a literary research paper. If you need suggestions on how to brainstorm and develop an argument for your paper, see the section “Prewriting” in “The Writing Process” from The Bedford Reader.

* As you write and revise, refer to “Questions to Ask Yourself (Paper #3)” to check your work.

* Your paper must cite your sources (primary and secondary) both in-text and in a works cited.
