For your final paper you will be asked to establish a hypothesis or research question related to Broadcasting and compose a paper that will be a minimum of 3,000 words with a detailed analysis of the topic of your hypothesis or research question. There will be several requirements for this paper as we work toward identifying your topic, outlining the contents of your analysis, finding resources for your paper, and finally writing the paper. When choosing a topic be sure to identify one that you are interested in exploring further while noting you will have just over two months to construct the paper and the preliminary documents that will help you write a well thought-out analysis. The paper, and the preliminary elements should include historical analysis and/or information to provide either background on your topic or support your argument if the topic chosen is historical in nature. Be consistent with the style you use for your writing and citations (Either MLA, APA, or Chicago)

Research Paper (20%) The above elements will contribute to your final research paper, which will require a minimum of 12 sources and 3,500 words. Along with addressing your hypothesis/research question/topic it will also include some recognition or analysis regarding the connected history of your topic (e.g. if you decide to write about the current streaming environment, it should include at least some discussion about the history of the platforms and/or more broadly the history of television). The paper will be consistent in the style you choose and will include a bibliography/reference list along with either footnotes or in-text citations. The reference list and citations/footnotes should not be included in the word count.
