   1. Transfer knowledge, inform, prepare

   1. Money, lack of resources, lack of motivation, improper behavior

   1. Everyone, education is constant even outside of school

   1. Based off of money, based heavily on standardized tests that aren’t conducive to all students learning styles
5. What is curriculum? What should be included in the school’s curriculum?
   1. What students learn or are supposed to learn in schools.
6. What is the learning environment? Who should be in charge of this?
   1. The tone that is set between a student and a teacher. Usually the teacher would set this tone. Learning environments can be found in and out of classrooms.
7. What should be the relationship between the teacher and the student?
   1. Teachers are like the seniors and students are like the freshman, teachers should help students gain knowledge as an elder friend.
8. Under what conditions is student learning most successful?
   1. In a welcoming environment, where curiosity is encouraged. Also when the student wants to learn and the teacher wants them to learn.
9. What motivates students to do their best in school?
   1. Desire to reach goals, motivation from other people
10. What is your definition of effective teaching?
    1. When a teacher and a student connect over the subject. A student who is not engaged will not learn.
11. What is the role of the teacher?
    1. To facilitate student success and learning
12. How should the teacher assess student learning?
    1. Pay attention to students’ cultural background
13. What is your definition of a “good” school?
    1. good learning environment, proper resources, high success rate
14. What should the relationship between education and social justice be?
    1. Instilling students with correct and positive values as a part of society.

Problems with the education system:

• Funding- state funding is provided to schools with the highest test scores, the school’s with the lower scores get less funding
• School districts are based off of money in given towns. People want to go to the schools with the most money, leaving the kids who go to the poorer schools with a lesser education.
• There is a barrier between kids who want to learn and those who don’t, and those who do not want to learn often get left behind in the classrooms and it hurts their education.
