Submission of preliminary summary (research design of your experiment). Design your Experiment You will need to submit a 2-page summary of the experiment and how you plan to design it. The purpose of the summary is also to assess ethical considerations in your experiment design and for us to advise you if you are on the right track. The summary should cover the following: Your hypothesis Description of your proposed experiment o What is the experiment about? Page 1 o Have there been similar experiments conducted in the past? Elaborate. o What existing literature is there on this topic/experiment? o What are the variables involved? o How are the variables defined or measured? o How will you ensure internal and external validity? o Where and when will the experiment be conducted? o What will the experimenters do? o Who will the participants be and what are their characteristics? A statement of any ethical considerations in your experiment. You will need to submit the summary in MS Word format before 2359hrs on 16 June 2020. (via LEO upload or if LEO system error, email to claudia_samuel2@rp.edu.sg). 2. Submission of Report. You will need to produce a report in MS Word format detailing the experiment’s rationale, methods and possible conclusions. The report format will be shared with you. Your report should minimally include the following: Your hypothesis Summary of key research in your chosen area (literature research) Description of your proposed experiment (no need to conduct it) Anticipated Data Findings. o Present both sides of the what you may or may not find o Relate this back to your hypothesis.
