8-10 page paper with minimum 10 peer reviewed academic sources. I uploaded the assignment below. This is for a Direct Practice in Social Work Graduate class.

Psychotherapy Paper (41 points)

Choose one of the Psychotherapies listed in readings for this class.  Write an 8-10 page paper (exclusive of cover page and references) discussing use of the method with a client system chosen from viewing a contemporary movie. You may choose a character from: “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” “As Good as it Gets” or “The Help”. Papers will be evaluated on the student’s ability to demonstrate understanding of the method, clarity, and mechanics.

Please note accessing journals and papers necessary for satisfactory completion of this course assignment takes time and needs to be planned well ahead.  You are encouraged to begin this project early.  Seminal references are valuable and may be included, however your references to empirical (research) studies must include those written in the past 5 years. You will need to use academic resources, not general internet resources. This means

Required Outline (PLEASE use the following headings on your paper—a paper without headings can be quite difficult to read):

1. Introduction: Briefly introduce the problem.  Describe the “client” you’ve chosen and the reason s/he is seeking therapy.
2. Methods: Discuss methods, techniques and instruments or measures of assessment specifically related to this problem (e.g., if a client presents with anxiety, you might choose to evaluate the client with the Zung Self-Rated Anxiety Scale; a child with suspected bi-polar disorder may be assessed with the Young Mania Rating Scale, etc—use your own ideas, based on research).

III   Implementation:  Present your intervention design in clear, concise and specific terms.  Identify empirical support for the procedure(s) (cite specific studies).

1. Evaluation:  Discuss methods you propose to incorporate for the evaluation of your intervention, i.e., how do you plan to determine if the intervention is effective (Which assessment tools will you use? Will you use single system design, pre-test-post test?)
2. Strengths, Limitations, Recommendations: Review strengths, limitations, and give recommendations.

Document your paper extensively (a minimum of 10 academic references is required).  Any journal articles you use must be from peer-reviewed journals. Please do NOT use Wikipedia or general internet resources. This is a formal academic paper for an advanced graduate degree and will be evaluated accordingly. Utilize APA format in text and reference list.  Failing to adhere to APA Publication Manual guidelines will result in a loss of points for this assignment. APA style includes attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

All papers are due at midnight on the due date. After this time, students will lose points at the rate of 5% per 24 hour period.
