Cradle to Prison Pipeline for Black Males and Academic under Performance of Black Males.

Introduction

Why did I choose this topic? This research topic aims at exploring the reasons as to why blackest males are fond of criminal offences and perform poorly in academics. I am an academician; hence, my research aims at studying the criminal patterns of the black males.

What do I already know about this topic? There are three researches that have been done in this topic. Most of the reasons that these research papers show a missing gap in this area of interest; therefore, I intend to modify my research to dwell mainly on the relationship of academic performance and crimes that the black men commit.

What do I want to learn as a result of my research? My research intends to clarify and ascertain for the relationship between under performance in academics and the nature of crimes committed by black males. I want to find out if these crimes that they commit can contribute to their academic under performance.

What is my intended purpose in writing this paper? I intend to fill in on the missing gap of the previous researches. My research aims at proofing the relationship of the two factors; thus; data is required. I aim to come up with strategic recommendations that can be used to solve this problem

What questions do I have for the reference librarian? My question to the reference librarian is about; recent published articles, possible research materials that can be used and lastly, type of data to be used for the study (primary or secondary data).

Research question: To find out factors that contributes to black males dominating the prisons and whether these factors are related to their academic under performance.
