The best salespeople can effectively sense and interpret the communication styles of their customers and alter
their messages accordingly. Generally speaking, most communication styles can be characterized on the basis
of demonstrated levels of effectiveness and responsiveness and are classified into 4 types:
Amiables
,
Expressives
,
Analyticals
and
Drivers
write a paragraph (minimum of 4-5 sentences) describing the challenges you
would face when communicating with
each
style (four paragraphs total). Also consider and write about how
your product or service fits into each communication style.
For example, you might find it difficult to converse with a
Driver
because your personality is more relationship-
oriented.
Be creative and self-reflective. Hopefully, after doing this exercise you’ll have a better awareness of your
strengths and weaknesses with your own communication style.
