Community Service

Community service is one of the major ways to give back to the community in any college. Therefore in the desire to make sure that the purpose of making sure that the 25 hours of work are done there are several issues to consider to achieve the community service work in the best manner possible and also within the time limit which is one year. Community service is very important and crucial to the formation of the students as it helps the students to be formed not just cognitively but also socially, morally and scholars get to learn how to live with other people in a better manner (Boss, 185). Therefore this paper discusses the process of carrying out community service, possible areas I can work on, and how this is important to a student.

To whom much is given much is expected. this is a phrase in the bible and not only does it state a philosophical point of view but it also shows reality as it is. Most people who are given a lot or to whom much is invested get the ability to give back to the community because the investment which is made towards them matures and they get a lot to share. Therefore this is the same philosophical concept that helped to learn institutions to come up with the community service which is a standard form that should be 25 hours per year (Boss, 190).

Therefore in choosing the area which is best for community service I would choose to care for the environment of the college. Even though there are many ways of doing it like helping the economically challenged, caring for animals, enhancing the community by things like planning a food drive, helping the school though things like anti-bullying campaign and so much more caring for the environment remains dear to me. Therefore I would choose to take care of the environment by beginning a project to collect waste products from the environment, returning them to the right dust-bins and incinerating those waste products which are not possible to leave for them to decay. This therefore can be called a clean-up exercise and which helps the college be smarter and cleaner with time. This means that the environment will be more natural and it makes it possible for other life to exist beautifully within the college environment (Fenzel et. 28).

The cleaning exercise also helps the students get cleaner air, food and so much more from the clean environment. Therefore this is one of the most important exercises to be done. Therefore to make the project even more appealing and better in terms of encouraging participation and team spirit I would do this project with my friends so that through the coming together and thinking of how to make the college clean there is more than just cleaning the environment but there is also unity, bonding and skills development. Therefore the college having given so much to us the scholars and the students makes us those in a position to make returns and give back to the community (Fenzel et. 30).

. By giving back to the community not only does it make life better and easier for those who benefit but it also makes those involved mentors and capable individuals to be emulated.
