Self Evaluation Papers 

After your person of interest, informative, and persuasive speeches, you will write a one-page paper (three total) evaluating your public speaking development as evidenced on your video and peer critiques. The due date is the class period after your speech was given.

 
After viewing the video of your speech and reading your peer critiques, write a paper in which you discuss your public speaking strength and an area that needs improvement. Your evaluation must include: (1) what you did well, (2) what you could improve on, and (3) how you specifically plan improving. 
 

Some possible areas you could discuss are the following:

 
Content: Are you effectively opening and closing with impact, using effective language, adequately explaining and supporting your ideas?

Organization: Are your speeches clearly organized? Are you making effective use of previews, signposts, and summaries?

Presentation: Consider both visual and vocal components of delivery. Are you maintaining eye contact, using effective gestures, speaking loud enough to be heard?

 
 
Be sure in your paper to be specific about how you plan to improve for your next speech. (ie if you notice your gestures are stiff, next time you could practice in the mirror; or if you forget to cite your sources, you could highlight those items on your note cards)

 
These papers must be Times New Roman, 12 pt font, double spaced, and reach within a few lines of an entire page.

When I started in public speaking class in this semester, I had a good speech. I still want to take a good grade in this course and I hope to take C. In addition, I did well in my class in this semester. I had speech about different topics inside my class. I did most my homework and I know I am international student.

What you did well?

When I started in public speaking class in this semester, I had a good speech. I still want to take a good grade in this course and I hope to take C. In addition, I did well in my class in this semester. I had speech about different topics inside my class. I did most my homework and I know I am international student. Sometimes I attended on time and sometimes I did not attend no. I tried to do all my homework but I forget sometimes for some homework. In addition, I took all quizzes in my class almost. When I had speech in my class, I had a good eye contact with my instructor and my classmates. I tried to use a good introduction, body idea, conclusion in my speech and I put these and impact with main ideas. Moreover, I used some Flash card, Powerpoint, Word Program and Flash memory in my presentation. I stand in my class when I had my speech. I was honest with my classmates and my instructor. I had some new vocabularies. I gave some examples and quotations marks when I had some speech. I wrote some outline in my class before I had speech. In addition, my sound and movement was a good inside my class. I put good main ideas clear, good organized and explained.

2-What you could improve on?

I could improve my speech when I have a good practice with my classmates. In addition, I hope I will try to practice my speech before I will go to my class to do. Moreover, I can improve my speech when I save new words. By the way, I could improve my speech when I have a good confident inside my self. When I study english hard, I will improve my language. I have to read and see some video and book to improve my skills of public speaking. I think I can be better when I will work communicate with my classmates and with other people because I live alone in this world. I have some friends, but I did not set with him because I have sick inside my heart. I try to fix the problem and one time I went to the hospital because I had problem in my heart in this semester. I am very busy man because I have three children but I will try to improve my language. I have anxiety in my life, but I will try to delete that problem because I want to improve my English Language.

3- How you specifically plan improving

 I specifically plan improving my skills of public speaking. First I have to put a good schedule to study everyday for all my classes. In addition, I think I have to put some hours to talk with my classmates inside and outside my college. Moreover, I have to review my speech before I do and after I did. I want to develop my speech because it is very important to me to contact with all people and connect with my classmates. When my emotion goes down, I have to remember some famous people how they became famous and I will tell my self keep going to study hard to be famous in this world. I have to see some video of some famous persons of speech because those video will be helpful for me. In addition, I have to see my speech to know what was my mistake when I had speech in my class. Moreover, I have to use flash card in my class.
