Business and IT decision makers are racing to leverage the cloud computing (Saas, Paas, laas) paradigm and delivery model. The goal of business and IT is to allow users to take benefit from all of these technologies, without the need for deep knowledge about or expertise with each one of them. The clouds aim to cut costs and help the users focus on their core business instead of being impeded by IT obstacles. With tremendous innovation comes tremendous opportunity. However, navigating through the complexity of various clouds (Amazon web services (AWS), Google Apple Engine, Microsoft Azure, and salesforce.com) and finding the best fit. Cloud computing and infrastructure services focus on reducing risk in the client’s IT ecosystem while decreasing their total cost of ownership by combining infrastructure management services, cloud and security practices. For example, liquid Hub professionals is the latest cloud technologies and practices. A major pharmaceutical manufacturer was interested in evaluating open source service oriented architecture (SOA) products. Additionally, the enterprise was interested in exploring the cloud infrastructure option to better understand the fitness of these products use as well as the architectural tradeoffs involved with hosting this platform externally. Goals included understanding the overall architecture, development, deployment and operations of the environment, as well as an assessment of the performance and availability characteristic of the overall solution. Liquid Hub led and managed the project to quickly host the solution in the cloud while integrating a number of open source products to meet the business and technical needs of the commercial business. These products included workflow, business rules engine, business activity monitoring, and enterprise service bus. The results was a manageable, monitored solution that was brought on-line, tested, verified for more quickly, and with a better ROI than expected with existing operations.
